Live Music Archive
Accessibility
We want Live Music Archive to work for everyone who loves live music. This is what the iPhone and iPad app does today, and where we still have work to do.
What works today
- VoiceOver: the player, the queue, browsing and your Stats have labels and spoken values. The progress bar reads out the time played and the length of the show.
- Larger text: many screens grow with your text size. The player, Discover and Stats have been checked at the largest accessibility sizes.
- Dark mode: follows your device, or pick Light or Dark in More, under Appearance.
- Reduce Motion: slide and fade animations tone down or switch off in the tab bar, the player, filters and Stats.
- Increase Contrast and Reduce Transparency: text and icon colors get stronger with Increase Contrast, and the mini player turns solid with Reduce Transparency.
- Not just color: a favorite changes shape when you heart it, and a running sleep timer shows a ringed moon.
What we're still working on
- A few screens aren't tuned for the largest text sizes yet, including picking a recording of a show.
- The full-screen visualizer doesn't tone down for Reduce Motion yet.
- Voice Control: some button names don't match the words on screen.
- We haven't finished a full pass with VoiceOver on a real device, so some actions may be harder to find than they should be.
- Captions and audio descriptions: Live Music Archive plays live audio recordings, and we don't have lyrics or transcripts.
